Although this firm does represent you in the defense of the Complaint filed by the plaintiff against you, the ethical rules prevent our office from representing you personally in any cause of action (lawsuit) that you may have against the person who has sued you. This would put our firm into a conflict of interest position because of the fact that you may wish to pursue your claim further against the person who has sued you, although we may be in a position to resolve the case at the request of your liability insurance carrier.
